Song – Dareecha OST
Singer – Jaffer Zaidi
Composition – Kaavish
Prelude – 'Galiyon pe chaya hua hai dua' by Kaavish is
one of the rarest gems which takes us through the melodic notes of raag yaman
kalyan. Jaffer Zaidi shows us the beauty of raag yaman kalyan meandering
through the trails of the past. The strumming of the sitar transports us to a realm where music and the magic hidden behind words make life worth living.
Galiyon pe chaya hua hai dhuan
Gum hai maazi ke naam o nishaan
There is smoke in the streets. The traces of the past are lost.
Haveli ke peeche kachi puliyan tale
Suiyon main soyi hui hai guliyan
The flowers among thorns are sleeping under the fragile wooden bridge behind the mansion.
Thandey chand ki raaton main
Thamti chalti saanson main
The night is lit by the cold moonlight. The breaths are pausing as well as moving.
Chaunk jaate hain dareechey
Dharak jaati hai seediyan
The windows are startled. The sound of the footsteps is like the heartbeats of the stairway.
Seene main jam gayi hai aag
Barf ki tarha pigalti nahin
There is a fire set in the heart which does not melt like snow.
Keerchiyan hain maazi ki
Chubti hain dil main nikalti nahin
There are shards of glass piercing the heart due to the pain caused by past events. The pieces of glass prick but can't be removed.
Postlude - The traces of the past are lost when burnt, and they rise like smoke. The hurt caused in the hero is like the pain induced in flowers pricked by thorns. The hero tiptoes on the stairway by controlling his breaths on a cold moonlit night. The windows are startled, and the sound of the footsteps is like the heartbeats of the stairway. The pain in as intense as fire is set in the heart. It doesn't go away like the snow that melts. The pain of the past pierces the heart like shards of glass. The pieces of glass penetrate through the heart but can't be removed. The song takes us through the ruminating bad memories which trouble us from time to time. Even when we speak about living in the present, the ripples of the past can leave scars in our lives which can't be erased.
